40 years ago Today, two men named Neil and Buzz first set foot on the moon. they would be followed by 10 other guys. it's time to go back... Nasa recently launched an orbiting probe called the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, using spy satellite technology to take High resolution photos of the moons surface. and just in time for the 40th anniversary... photos of the apollo landing sites:

now the orbiter hasn't settled into its final orbit yet so these were taken from a little bit higher than optimum, but there will be better ones later once it gets a little lower...
